Dr. Wolman is a board-certified, Harvard educated psychiatrist practicing in Northern California. She has been studying collective consciousness about nuclear weapons for 35 years. This is a sequel to NUKES, PROPHECY, AND THE WILL TO LIVE: Dr. Wolman was moved to write these essays in response to the Fukushima disaster.

The Fukushima reactors continue to spew out radioactive isotopes,

NATO and the US continue to use depleted uranium weaponry in Afghanistan, and now Libya. While depleted uranium is relatively harmless in solid form, when exploded it pulverizes into dust containing Uranium 238, which emits deadly alpha particles for 4 ½ BILLION years. These particles are breathed or ingested, and cause cancer, or enter the DNA. Two thirds of the babies born to soldiers who served in Gulf War I suffered serious birth defects.

And the threat of all-out thermonuclear war still hangs over us.

Homo sapiens is slowly nuking the entire biosphere, and poisoning the DNA pool.

We must reverse the process, now, if life on earth is to survive.

To stop using depleted uranium weaponry, get rid of nuclear weapons, and replace nuclear energy with renewable energy, will require international cooperation on an unprecedented scale. We haven’t yet figured out how to remove radioactivity from the biosphere. We need to stop fighting with one another and instead, put our heads together to solve global problems.

World peace, NOW, is required for ecological sanity. Most people on the planet long for peace. 20 million people around the world marched for peace in February 2003, just before the invasion of Iraq.

How can this be achieved? Given human greed, and given the current power structure, which is so invested in nuclear energy and in war, how can the situation be turned around? Can we get any clues from wisdom of the past?

Here is a Native American prophecy, made 200 years ago:

” There was an old lady, from the “Cree” tribe, named “Eyes of Fire”, who
prophesied that one day, because of the white mans’ or Yo-ne-gis’ greed,
there would come a time, when the fish would die in the streams, the birds
would fall from the air, the waters would be blackened, and the trees would no longer be, mankind as we would know it would all but cease to exist.”…

This part of the prophecy is amazingly accurate. The BP oil spill last year blackened the waters of the Gulf, showing that the prophecy refers to the time we live in. Reports of fish dying and birds falling from the sky are common, and the forests are being decimated. Many humans today are psychologically and socially crippled by our disharmony with nature.

It continues:

…”There would come a time when the “keepers of the legend, stories, culture rituals, and myths, and all the Ancient Tribal Customs” would be needed to restore us to health. They would be mankind’s key to survival, they were the “Warriors of the Rainbow”. There would come a day of awakening when all the peoples of all the tribes would form a New World of Justice, Peace, Freedom and recognition of the Great Spirit.

Has this second, hopeful part of the prophecy been fulfilled?

Warriors of the Rainbow are everywhere these days. We started appearing in the 60’s, people dedicated to finding the wisdom to unite people and restore ecological sanity. Annual Rainbow Gatherings started in 1972, and continue to this day.

Many people, of all faiths and no faith, recognize that there is one Great Spirit for all of us, called by many different names. We are all neighbors on this small planet.

Eyes of Fire prophecy specifically tells us that wisdom from the past is necessary, wisdom from all the cultures, not just Native American. This matches a prophecy made by the Lakota Black Elk around 1870:

“And I saw that the sacred hoop of my people was one of many hoops that made one circle, wide as daylight and as starlight, and in the center grew one mighty flowering tree to shelter all the children of one mother and one father. And I saw that it was holy.”

The Bible has similar prophecies:

Psalm 22:27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him,
When will the day of awakening come?

According to the Mayans, December 21, 2012 heralds the end of a 26,000-year evolutionary cycle. It will be the end of the world as we know it, and the start of a new Golden Age, the Aquarian Age. There are hundreds of books, articles and websites that refer to this subject, some of them scary and sensational, others hopeful and inspirational.

We have a choice about what sort of change takes place next year.
Deut. 30: 19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live…

I belong to a small group of peacemakers, rainbow warriors, who plan to make 2012 a year of positive change. We are choosing life. We are looking at the geopolitical reality today, and see that over half the world’s population claims spiritual descent from Abraham: Christians, Muslims and Jews.
It’s awesome to realize this was set up 4000 years ago:
Gn 17:3-4
When Abram prostrated himself, God spoke to him:
“My covenant with you is this:
you are to become the father of a host of nations.
No longer shall you be called Abram;
your name shall be Abraham,
for I am making you the father of a host of nations.

Many believers in all three Abrahamic faiths understand that Yahweh of the OT, Father in the NT, and Allah in the Qur’an are one and the same, the God referred to in Genesis. However, there are many blind sectarians in all three faiths who believe theirs is the only way, and call for Jihad, Crusades, Holy War against the other Abrahamic faiths. These sectarians are providing the rationale for the ongoing wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the pressure on Iran.

The promise to Abraham continues: Gn 17: 9 I will give to you
and to your descendants after you
the land in which you are now staying,
the whole land of Canaan (now Israel/Palestine), as a permanent possession;
and I will be their God.”
It all centers on Israel/Palestine, also known as the Holy Land. Our group believes that if peace can be made there, it will spread to the rest of the planet and set an example for positive change toward world peace. We have been shown a way to unite peace loving people across the world, a way that will remove the biggest cause of war on the planet and overcome hatred and intolerance.

We are working toward a peace conference in Jerusalem at the winter solstice next year, Dec 21, 2012, which will have two aspects. The first is based on a teaching which is found in all three Abrahamic religions:

Leviticus 18 “‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

Luke 10:27
Jesus answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ ; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
Sura 4: 36
* And serve Allah. Ascribe no thing as partner unto Him. (Show) kindness unto … the neighbour who is of kin (unto you) and the neighbour who is not of kin, and the fellow-traveller and the wayfarer and (the slaves) whom your right hands possess.

We are planning a Love Your Neighbor Campaign- LYNC- with buttons, banners, bumper stickers with “Love your neighbor” in Hebrew, Arabic and English- to be distributed in Jerusalem during the conference.
In addition, the peace conference will advocate a solution to the puzzle of how peace can be made in the Holy Land. It is to be found in the Old Testament, which is respected by Jews, Christians and Muslims alike. This solution is laid out in a document entitled “God’s Peace Plan for the Holy Land”, because the sacred writings of Jews, Christians and Muslims support it. You can read it online at\

This document offers a practical, workable solution to the problem of how Israelis and Palestinians can share the land peacefully. It recommends one state with two sub-states corresponding to the pre-1967 war borders. with Jerusalem serving as the shared national capital.

Ez 37:18-22, 28
“When your people ask you, ‘Won’t you tell us what you mean by this?’ say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: ‘I am going to take the stick of Joseph—which is in Ephraim’s hand (Palestinians)—and of the Israelite tribes associated with him, and join it to Judah’s stick (Israelis). I will make them into a single stick of wood, and they will become one in my hand.’ Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written.
Thus says the Lord GOD:
I will take the children of Israel from among the nations
to which they have come,
and gather them from all sides to bring them back to their land.
I will make them one nation upon the land,
in the mountains of Israel,
and there shall be one prince for them all.
Never again shall they be two nations,
and never again shall they be divided into two kingdoms…

I will make with them a covenant of peace;
it shall be an everlasting covenant with them,
Believers in all three Abrahamic religions who love God will see that He has provided us with this means of making peace in the Holy Land. Nonbelievers can see the sense of it, and can support the use of the holy texts of the peoples of the region to solve the puzzle which is leading to endless war.
We are gathering signatures worldwide to support the Peace Plan and the Jerusalem conference at We have about 18 months to mobilize worldwide support for peace in the Holy Land in 2012.
The pressure for peace and ecological sanity is worldwide. Just as water suddenly changes from liquid to steam at its boiling point, so the longing for peace can suddenly boil over next year. If we all focus our attention on making peace in the Holy Land in 2012, the effect will be powerful.
Will it work? If it is truly God’s peace plan, it will answer the familiar prayer Mt. 6: 10 Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
You can join this effort for peace by signing the petition, sending it to others, helping to disseminate it across the planet. To help with the LYNC, contact To help organize the peace conference, contact
